What is MHFA? Just as CPR helps you assist an individual having a heart attack, Youth Mental Health First Aid helps you assist a young person experiencing a mental health or substance use-related crisis. Youth Mental Health First Aid is an 8-hour course that teaches how to help adolescents experiencing a mental health or addictions challenge or is in crisis. In the Mental Health First Aid course, you learn risk factors and warning signs for mental health and addiction concerns, strategies for how to help someone in both crisis and non-crisis situations, and where to turn for help.
Cost: The course (valued at $170) is a gift to you by the partnership of Faith Community Church and Crossroads Community Church. However, we do welcome a suggested donation of $20 to cover the Participant Guide.
When & Where? Saturday, April 18 from 8am-5pm at Crossroads Community Church, 1341 Edgell Rd in Framingham.
